Our purpose is given to us by Jesus Christ who stated, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

Our world is filled with darkness right now. Moral failure by leaders, economic collapse, the constant threat of terrorist attacks, divorce rates at all time highs, stress and fear driving people to heart attacks and suicide...darkness. And yet we know from Scripture that Jesus prophesied that all these things must come to pass before He would return.

The lighted sign which sits atop Pentecostal Assembly Church has boldly proclaimed for decades to our city "Jesus - The Light of the World". While it is true that we live in a time of unprecedented darkness, it is also true that we live in a time of unprecedented opportunity. There are people everywhere with greater needs than ever before. We who know Jesus Christ need to step out and bring the Light to those who are yet in darkness. We need to bring hope to the hopeless, healing to the hurting, help to the helpless, liberty to those who are bound, and salvation to the lost soul.

"Ye are the light of the world...Let your light so shine." (Matthew 5:14a,16a)

Each of us have a "world" to reach. We need to go into that world and reach it. That is our purpose. LIGHT YOUR WORLD.
